Abstract

Astrology is no where near science. That is because Astrology is up in the sky and Science is down below. In this knol, with the help of my students, readers of my knols and articles, my friends I am going to clear your doubts if you were wondering if Astrology is a science.

Astrology – The definition is not always right.

Many people think that Astrology is just Sun Signs or Moon Signs. So because they have the wrong ideas about Astrology they rightly dismiss it off as a nonsense.

I am a professional Astrologer for the past 20 years. My clients include (amongst other well known or successful people of India), many IAS officers, Politicians, Top police officers, Doctors, Engineers, Sports persons, Actors, CEOs, Vice Presidents of top companies, MBA Gold Medallist from reputed institutes of India, Billionaires, Chartered Accountants, less known people, ordinary people, people who have not studied beyond 5th standard but became millionaires and so on.

If you believe Astrology is a science skip the next 2 paragraphs. If you have been always saying that Astrology is not a science then the most important paragraphs in this knol is the next 2. Good luck to you.

For those who think Astrology is nonsense, crap, fiction, superstition and so on ( I find such criticism regularly), I have this question. Do you think that I had fooled around with all my clients successfully for 20 years using Astrology? If you say “Yes” or “Why not”, then you must also agree that I must be considered as the most intelligent person in the world because according to your logic I managed to cheat some of the best people in India. The other option you have is that you may say that all the people who consulted me were fools which also implies that you are the most intelligent one in the world. Is my logic clear?

Now consider this situation. According to you all the 100000s of people including Kings, Queens, Prince and Princess and ordinary people for about 4000 years or more were also fooled continuously when they consulted the Astrologers. According to you it also looks like they will continue to fool millions of people until the end of the world. This is a great possibility because instead of declining in the world of modern science like medicine, engineering, Astrology is slowly emerging out as one more science as more and more people are beginning to learn Astrology.

Astrology is a science: Says the Mumbai High Court as reported on Feb 3, 2011

MUMBAI: Astrology has been debunked by most world scientists including India’s renowned physicist Prof. Yash Pal.

The Bombay High Court reaffirmed this on Thursday when it dismissed a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) that had challenged Astrology as science. The PIL was filed by an NGO had sought action against ‘fake’ astrologers, tantriks, practitioners of Vastu shastra etc.

The Supreme Court has already considered the issue and ruled that Astrology is science. The court had in 2004 also directed the universities to consider if astrology science can be added to the syllabus. The decision of the apex court is binding on this court,” observed the judges.

The judges also took on record an affidavit submitted by the Union government. The Centre had in its affidavit stated that Astrology is 4000 years old ‘trusted science’ and the same does not fall under the preview of

“The Drugs and Megical Remedies Act (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954”.

“The said Act does not cover Aastrology and related sciences. Astrology is a trusted science and is being practiced for over 4000 years,” said an affidavit filed by Dr R Ramakrishna, deputy drug controller (India), west zone.

“The said Act is aimed at prohibiting misleading advertisements relating to drugs and magic remedies. The Act does not cover and / or relate to Astrology and / or allied sciences like Palmistry, Vaastu Shastra etc. In view thereof, a purported ban on practices promoting astrology and related sciences sought by the petitioner, which is a time tested science more than 4000 years old is totally misconceived and unjustifiable,” says the affidavit.

The (PIL) filed by Janhit Manch and its convener Bhagwanji Raiyani, along with his associate Dattaram Kumkar, had questioned the validity of predictions by many well-known Astrologers.

The PIL, which ran into more than 100 pages pointed to several cases, including that of Indira Gandhi and Charan Singh becoming prime ministers, despite opposite predictions.

Representing the Union government, advocate Advait Sethna told the court that even the SC had accepted that Astrology was a science and many universities had included it as a subject.

Advocate for Maharashtra Government, Bharat Mehta too supported the stand taken by the Union government. Mehta submitted an affidavit filed by the food and drugs administration (FDA) department which said that necessary action is being taken against the guilty under the Drugs and Megical Remedies Act.

The PIL had urged the authorities to ban articles, advertisements, episodes and practices promoting astrology and its related subjects like vastu, reiki, feng shui, tarot, palmistry, zodiac signs and rasi based predictions.

Show me the proof that Astrology is not a science. The ball is in your court.

Like many of his clan, Carl Sagan an astronomer always loved to speak against astrology. Carl Sagan obviously did not study Vedic (Indian Astrology). In his horoscope there are planetary combinations which indicate that he will speak against Astrology because he was not destined to be guided by his horoscope. But he believed that there are Aliens out there and sent messages all over the universe. I remember reading about it while I was a student in Loyola college, Chennai. Messages were in about 200 languages or so. But he insisted that the following plaque be put up for the Aliens to see. He thought then the Aliens would love to contact earthlings.

The Plaque that Carl Sagan and others put up on the Pioneer 10 and 11.

The Pioneer plaques are a pair of gold-anodized aluminum plaques which were placed on board the 1972 Pioneer 10 and 1973 Pioneer 11 spacecraft, featuring a pictorial message, in case either Pioneer 10 or 11 are intercepted by extraterrestrial life. The plaques show the nude figures of a human male and female along with several symbols that are designed to provide information about the origin of the spacecraft.

The Pioneer spacecraft were the first human-built objects to go out of our solar system. The plaques were attached to the spacecraft’s antenna support struts in a position that would shield them from erosion by stellar dust. Carl Sagan and others were smart people.

The Voyager Golden Record, a much more complex and detailed message using (then) state-of-the-art media, was attached to the Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. It sent out messages telling the Aliens that “We are here”, or “let us talk”.

The idea was supported a great deal by Carl Sagan who always spoke against Astrology (or may be just Sun Sign Astrology).

In the plaque above, I only saw the 12 divisions of the zodiac. See the left side of the plaque. Did you see it too. So Carl Sagan and his other friends were actually great believers of Astrology. They put a Sun and the Moon too on the plaque. At the bottom they put something that resembled the 9 planets. In front of the 9 planets they placed the Sun. Carl Sagan also thought that Aliens may like the nude figures he displayed because he noticed that most earthlings liked them. Perhaps they thought that Aliens must also be like human beings, a common mistake made by others who believed so much in Aliens without actually seeing even one in their lifetime. Sometimes science can also be so much unscientific.

Carl Sagan must have realized that all in all civilizations in the universe whatever be the forms of life, there must be Astrology. He must have reasoned out that after learning Astronomy intelligent beings are bound to relate it to the life experience. So he used the 12 lines based diagram corresponding to the 12 signs of the zodiac. I love to spread awareness of Astrology wherever I go. I thank Carl Sagan for having come up with the idea of spreading Astrology symbols across the universe. I am sure Carl Sagan will be upset about this information (though he is no more).

Show me one case study….

Show me the horoscope of any successful actor who does not have a strong relationship between the planet owning the 5th house and the 10th house. The 5th relates to entertainment and 10th house relates to profession.

Show me the horoscope of person who has the 2nd lord along with the SUN and they both occupying the 1st house or 2nd house and NOT having a serious problem with eye (mostly retina damage).

Show me the horoscope of a person having the 6th house lord in the 7th house and the 7th house lord in the 6th NOT having gone through a failed marriage or a very troublesome marriage.

Show me a horoscope of a person where the planet ruling the 5th house is placed in the 6th house along with the planet owning the 6th house, 8th house or 12th house and NOT having VERY SERIOUS problems with children.

Whenever a person embraces another religion, ie converting to another religion never can that happen if many bad planets are not influencing the house of dharma (9th house). God put you into a particular religion with a purpose. He knows what is best suited for you. Mostly RAHU the rebel will be influencing the 9th house. Such person becomes a rebel to the religion he is born into. Show me one horoscope where the 9th house is not afflicted even though the person has switched religion.

Show me a horoscope where RAHU and KETU axis falls on the 5th and 11th house axis and he or she DOES NOT consume Alcohol regularly. As the age of such a person increases, he or she gets more and more into alcohol.

Show me a horoscope where the 10th house lord is in the 6th house (alone) and he or she not having income in foreign countries.

Show me a horoscope of person having the 4th house lord in the 12th house and despite that he or she is NOT Addicted to a particular habit. The addiction may range from simple coffee to alcohol and to drugs or perverted sex.

I have written down these “Show me a horoscope” rules only to prove that Astrology is beyond science.
